Maison Martin Margiela have partnered with Casio on one of their G-Shock models which is a bold choice considering this is the first time MMM have worked on a watch. What really interesting about this collaboration is that these two companies run in two entirely different sectors of the consumer market, not to say that is anything new but interesting considering the last collaboration was with h&m.
Launched today, it’s named the GA-300, I think the digits in the name will have something to do with the fact that it’s a limited edition with 3,000 pieces being made available worldwide, at 300 points of sale and just to keep with tradition the project ties in with G-Shocks 30th birthday…oh and it also retails at €300.00
The new timepiece features a transparent liquid crystal skeleton display and watch dials which contain stopwatch, world time, and LED illuminator functions. It is also shock and 200M water-resistant, for anyone who feels like giving their new baby a tough time. The watch comes with a removable mirrored silver leather cuff, metallic silver casing and a metal bracelet and on the reverse of the watch is Maison Martin Margiela’s classic “0 to 23” engraving.
