The French Chairman and C.E.O. of the worlds wealthiest luxury group LVMH, Bernard Arnault (who is Europe’s richest man with an estimated fortune of €21.2 billioni) is to receive a honorary knighthood for services to business and the wider community in the U.K. The group currently employs more than 83,000 people worldwide that work within their large portfolio of luxury brands and products including, Dior (Arnault is Chairman), Krug, Belvedere, Fendi, Givinchy, Marc Jacobs, Bulgari, TAG Heuer, Loewe, Hublot and a whole lot more. Around 3000 of these employee’s work in the U.K.
An honorary order’s are awarded to citizens of countries that don’t have the Queen as their head of state, Arnault would not be able to style himself as a ‘Sir’ unless he became a citizen of Britain, therefore a subject of Her Majesty the Queen and as he is currentely seeking Belgian nationality he will just have to do with the initials behind his name.
